Taking the Plunge as a Freelance Writer 08/20/2009
I have a suggestion for anyone out there. If you want to be rejected day and night, try to be a writer! You can send out articles, stories, and books that you spent hours working on...just to get the dreaded "This isn't for us" or "Try again with another" or "This doesn't fit our editorial needs." I've read some great literary magazines, newspapers, and "circulars" that I would never have read before. I've also never gotten this many "no's" in my life since I left toddler-hood behind. Seriously, though. I love writing and won't be quiting anytime soon. But if you need your self-esteem deflated...submit a story or article somewhere. Anywhere. It doesn't matter. They say you get 100 rejections before the first acceptance? Add Comment | About Me
