Is it just me?  I won't drop on sites whose badges are:
1) Misspelled
2) The words run off the side of the badge, so you can only read half of it
-or-
3) Are using the "quick" badge provided by Entrecard.

My reasons are simple: most of these sites are there simply in hopes of getting someone to click on one of their links, which usually offer one of two products: payday loans or, uh, how should I put this, products for men who are insecure.  I cancel ads by people for these two things also.  I know the occasional new person used the "auto badge" (I did when I first started blogging), but I would rather accidentally miss a real blog than spend an hour sorting through 50 advertisement blogs (for lack of a better word).

So, am I an Entrecard snob?

-and- as I have a short attention span and am a bit dense:

Can someone tell me what the hell the point of becoming a follower on someone's blog is?  I followed a few blogs I really liked at one time.  I've been all over Google trying to find that list as I wouldn't mind seeing what the blogs are up to.
Is the "following" feature only for site owners?  If so, why would anyone "follow" a blog?

Is there a way to find a list of the blogs you yourself have followed?  If so, HOW!?!?

Yes, I realize there are benefits for the site owner, if they want to ask their followers a question or send a newsletter....but I have to admit, I've never received a question or newsletter from any blog I've followed....
Do these features even work?

The RSS feed is automatically added to your Google Reader subscriptions when you "follow" a blog if you use this service. I don't know if this works for other RSS feed readers.

I cannot say whether you're an Entrecard snob or not, but I can say that it isn't easy to design your own card.... After trying it myself, I tried to get someone else to design it... however, apparently they just took my 150 Entrecredits and screwed me. I have been waiting since the 12th for them to email me with a design... any design, at all!

Some of us have neither: the tools, the skills, or the money to pay for a decent card logo. Personally, I have been unemployed now for over two years - thanks to our economy... and blogging is merely a last resort effort at providing myself with an income.

So far, however, I haven't even made a minimum wage of $1.00 per day consistently and I have been working around 16 hours a day for months. Contrary to popular opinion, The Information Economy isn't the panacea it has been made out to be....

You must be [all of the following]: Writer, Computer Programmer, Graphic Designer, Information Researcher, Marketing Analyst, SEO Site Editor, Site Reviewer, and Desperately Unemployed in order to be successful as a blogger... most of which, require advanced and technical knowledge. And yet, the profit made - if any - will likely not even pay for a Coffee and Cigarettes.

Yeah, these are great replacement jobs for a manufacturing base - which consistently pays real money, every single week.... May our political leaders rot in Hell - for what they have done to our nation!

To go to all the effort of advertising but not creating or paying someone to create a graphic button is ridiculous. If you use banners make sure they're appealing - the same goes for graphic headers at blogs!

Well, as for me it really depends on the purpose of collecting followers.

Admittedly, I would rather read and comment sensibly on a lot of blogs and really make a certain connection with active bloggers than just collect followers with no interaction with them after.

I can check the blogs that I have linked to (using an SEO toolbar) and the gmail account that you used (assuming) when you signed up for google followers :)

Have a great day!

Haha, I'm also a snob, and feel the same way as you do. It is not hard to design a card. If I can do it, anyone can. All you do is shrink any pic to the size required. I also despise mispellings. I figure if you can't even spell your card correctly, then what is your post going to look like! I actually read the blogs that I drop on. I don't just drop and run, so content is important to me. Anyway, I'll stop ranting. I just wanted you to know that you are not alone with your snobbery:)
